Yet another CT....YAY!!

I feel so fortunate to be working on several Creative Teams for so many talented designers. I just started with Steel City Scraps at Digital Candy and then found out she and another designer, Christie Lemmon, would be combining their CTs!!! How awesome is that?? Now we can access both designer's kits and boy do I have a lot of pages in mind! Here is one I did last night just due to sheer excitement! It features Christie's "Let it Snow" kit available HERE at Digital Candy!

I love all the glitter in it! Here is my layout!

I also recently did a layout with Rachel's "Neverland" kit (Steel City Scraps at Digital Candy). I loved the soft green colors in this and had to have it since we are big fans of Tinkerbell at our house! Here is the kit preview and one layout I've done so far! It should be back in her store soon!

Things to be Thankful for . . .

With Thanksgiving right around the corner I decided to do a layout on our first Thanksgiving with Kaitlyn as a member of our family. That was such a big year of firsts! Really, it was her first big Holiday celebration with our extended family members so it was a big occassion! =)

This kit is Forever Autumn by Christy Skaggs at GoDigitalScrapbooking.com. It is really nice..it has so many great elements and papers to use and they are beautifully designed! Click the pic for further credits as not all pieces shown are included in this kit.
This one is made entirely from the kit!

Cutie Patootie Kit!

(IMAGE CLICKABLE)

This kit is so cute...and not only because of the little mice!! I have been so ready for Christmas and Winter kits to come...but then I saw this and thought.....THIS is stinkin' cute! It has a little bit of everything, buttons, flowers, shrooms, bling! It really could be used for more than just fall photos too!!! I just love the mouse holding the makeshift umbrella with their tail trying not to get wet. I've got just the pictures...when I INSISTED we go visit a flower farm in the POURING RAIN! We drove for 3 hours to get there and I prayed the whole way we would get a sunbreak...no such luck. But we did get a few minutes to take photos when the rain stopped momentarily! The wind was biting cold though! Our daughter was just about 8 months old then and we tooled around in the mud with the stroller...needless to say hubby was NOT happy! Neither was I...I didn't get the beautiful photos that I was hoping for...and I still haven't! Kaitlyn is 3 now so maybe this next spring we'll have better luck! Take a walk down "Memory Lane" with me and be glad you didn't have to experience THIS!!! LOL

"Hurry and take the picture
before that dark cloud gets
any closer!!"

The fortunate got to
ride out to where the
flowers were...but we
had Kaity's stroller...
bummer deal!

So, we got to walk.
Notice the sign...
"Fields
are wet and slippery"...
REALLY??!

I'm not sure, but I still
don't think I've been
forgiven for this day
and that his car was
super muddy after
having to put the
stroller back in it.
Not to mention
having to clean
all the wheels
and the storage
bin fabric underneath...
what a mess...(SORRY!).
But it will make a great
story on a scrapbook page...
don't you think?? lol..

(oh, you're STILL not
laughing, well, maybe
someday...) Yeah, you
DO look cold, and NO
we can't go yet...I need
at least one pic of the
flower field!!!!

Here it is..and YES
the wind is blowing
the flowers over to
the right, it isn't just
the angle of the picture!
BRRRRRrrrrr...I can
still remember how
numb my fingers got
trying to get these
shots....and it was
April 15th!!!
Some Spring!

So, I would love to get my hands on this kit and those little field mice to do this page...it's been almost 3 years...the story needs to be told!!! =) If you love it too go over to Sunshine Studio Scraps and pick it up, I'll bet you have some great RAIN pics somewhere and stories too! =)

MIA...last seen...SCRAPPING (of course)!!!

It has been so much fun to be on a couple Creative Teams and watch the layouts just fly! I don't think I ever got so many layouts done in such a short amount of time while paper scrapping! At least none that I got to keep...the gift albums with lots of pages made great gifts though! =)

So, I've been working on these over the last couple of days. They have been long anticipated! This Himmel bed was purchased in Germany by my parents when I was born. They shipped it back to the states and saved it all these years. They gave it to me years ago to store for "when that time came" and unfortunately it took longer than anyone expected, but it DID come!

When Jim and I opened the box the boards were wrapped in newspaper....dated 1974/1975 after my sister was done with it. It was sticking to the boards in places and the newsprint was coming off onto the white paint. The brass fitting were also a mess! I was like...GREAT...this isn't exactly what I had in mind! But, my handy hubby got to work with repainted and scrubbing the brass. It was just like new! I also added my touch by changing all the bedding to pink! The sides were a pink/creme gingham check design by Disney's Classic Winnie the Pooh line available at the time. the canopy was a sheer pink soft toule that increasingly had sparkles as it got closer to the floor. Because it was so light and "flow-y" I sewed on a faux pearl beading all along the bottom to give it weight and made a casing at the top for a pink satin ribbon to attach it to the cradle. We bought a new mattress for it and it was all ready to be used again! It was hard for me to have Kaitlyn move to the crib after about 3 months...it was such a beautiful Princess bed!

So, I took lots of pics of the makeover and her in it. I dug out my pics from Germany of me using the bed and made these pages using the Josie kit by Calalily Designs. The muted tones actually worked as I wanted the many pictures to stand out and the frilly, floral frames reminded me so much of how ornate German decor usually is! PERFECT! Hope you enjoy them!

Josie by Calalily Designs is on sale at
Digital Candy for $2.00 right now!! =)

THE MAGIC HOUR!!!

It only happens ONCE a year and I look forward to it each time...kind of! In the spring you lose an hour, but oh the daylight hours you gain!!! It's my favorite...unlike now in the fall where you give up all those daylight hours for one extra hour in the day. BUT, I always make lemonade outta lemons...so do you know what I do with that hour??? SCRAPBOOK, OF COURSE! =) I always seem to want to freeze time for something..and now that it will be frozen for one hour, I'm NOT going to miss it!

Just had to post to let you know what I'm doing while you are probably loving an extra hour of rest! =) (hee-hee)

Happy National Digital Scrapbook Day!!!

WHEW! What a day. I started out thinking I was going to sit and get to scrap all day...that didn't last long. Hubby has been sick so Kaity and I got up and got breakfast. I did manage to get a speed scrap in during that time too. I need to tweak the page though...this one was difficult and I didn't really have some of the elements she was asking for! I actually had to buy a kit during the speed scrap to complete it and then when it was all over the participation prize wasn't something I would have spent the time and energy trying to earn....GOOD GRIEF! But, it will be a cute page when I fix it....I'll upload sometime in the near future!

I have several I need to upload...I've been working on a ton of stuff! =) I think I may go back to my "Slide" features though (like at the bottom of this page) as it just looks 'cleaner'! I have used those now for a couple years on our other family website and they always seem to come out with really cool new designs!

I did manage to hit a couple blog trains for tons of freebies and make it to several sites to see what they were offering. I did all that and my daily downloads in between house cleaning, and finishing Halloween! We spread it over 2 days this year. We went to the pumpkin patch early on when the sun was shining for some beautiful pics. Our weather continued to be nice (unusual) so by the time Halloween rolled around and we were ready to carve pumpkins we found they were rotting! YUK! So, on Jim's way home he picked up a carving pumpkin. I planned to carve, get Kaity dressed up, go trick or treating at the mall, then go out to dinner. Kaity was pretty tired to start with so we didn't quite get everything done in that order. During the day I had even planned to make 2 pumpkin pies from 2 "pie pumpkins" that I bought...that didn't get done either! So, we just did dinner at the Olive Garden then trick or treating yesterday and I baked the pies while Daddy carved a pumpkin with Kaity. I bought a kit for small kids some time ago...remember light bright?? Well these plastic pegs were just the perfect thing for Kaity to feel like she could be involved! She LOVED pounding them into the pumpkin. It came with a battery operated light bulb for inside and I have to say...it was so easy and we'll definitely do it this way again! Too bad we didn't have it ready for yesterday...but oh well!

Well...I'm on to scrapping now with what's left of my evening (10:30pm now). Church & scrap get together tomorrow, then canning apples (round 2) on Monday! Oh, and my Mom confirmed that they will be coming to our house this year for Thanksgiving...so I'll be preparing for that too! I think Lori & Christian (sister & her hubby) will go to their friends' house in Spokane this year...at leas that is their plan right now!

After church tomorrow I plan to go to an all day/night scrap thing and knock quite a few projects out! I have SO MUCH to work on, which is nice because you never really know what you'll be in the mood for! =)
